Micha surf club celebrates young surfers
Translation: Heido Sundstrom
For the second year in a row, Ernesto Trujillo, leader of the Micha Surf Club, School, Fabrication and Surfboard Repair, celebrated the local young surfers of Acapulco in an event that began on Sunday, November 5th and lasted from 10 am – 5 pm.
Free surf classes were held for the new prospects of this sport and kids between the ages of 4 – 15 enjoyed the waves and foam that broke along Playa Revolcadero. Although the water was a little cold, that didn’t stop the kids getting in and out of the waves. There was also a space to eat hot dogs that were specially prepared by the “Fairy Godparents”, Alfonso Polidura and his wife, Sandra “La Güera”, who hail from Mexico City but are more Acapulqueños than anything. Alfonso is the President of the Mexico City Surfing Association and has supported the event since its inception last year.
Attendees enjoyed slices of cake, fresh flavored waters, free Planeta Surf magazines and commemorative T-shirts.
Eve Trujillo de Nestle always has her batteries fully charged and was an important part of organizing the event, along with dozens of volunteers that lent their support. Especially the Bonfil Surf Shop, Escuela Todo Americano, Iguana Surf, Surf Sing and “El Morongo”.
