Reef Classic Adrenaline Rush Kicks Off

This past Wednesday morning, the event for the third stop of the Latin Tour began at Playa Santa Teresa in Costa Rica and will go until Saturday, April 20th.

The conditions posed a difficult start for nearly every competitor, as the tide had gone down and winds kicked up. The locals took full advantage of knowing their wave’s conditions, however, and it was Luis Vindas who was the one to watch, scoring 13.34 in heat #8 and surpassing fellow local, Federico Pilurzu.

Mexican surfers, Angelo Lozano and Jose Manuel “Yuco” Trujillo both passed their qualifying heats with first place finishes. After achieving 11 points, “Yuco” Trujillo became the most-watched of the foreign surfers competing in the circuit.

The second round kicked off with the Open Category, where Angel Lozano entered the water in heat #19, followed by Jose Manuel “Yuco” Trujillo who was set to compete in heat #21. After the Open Category, the Juniors Category will commence.
