Rosarito to host the 3rd annual global wave conference

rosaritoThe 3rd Annual Global Wave Conference (GWCIII) will take place in Rosarito, Baja California Norte, Mexico from May 6th – 7th, 2013, just north of Bahia de Todos Santos, one of the five World Surfing Reserves.

The world of surfing, the waves and the communities that benefit from these waves are all being threatened by pollution, poorly planned development, corruption and other environmental threats. In the past 20 years, a growing number of surf protection and environmental organizations, professionals and investigators have begun to address these threats through conservation efforts, advances in research and policy.

The Global Wave Conference is an international meeting aimed at advancing the recognition waves and their values, as well as their protection throughout the world through the sharing of information, collaboration and the creation of a global network of surf protection.

The following questions will be based on the conference topics:

•    What are the values of the waves and their benefit to coastal communities?
•    What are the threats facing the waves?
•    What strategies can be implemented to protect the waves?
•    How can we work together to protect the waves?
