Three mexican surfers join the reef team

Yuco Trujillo, Angelo Lozano and Jimena Ochoa have joined the select group of the brand’s global riders, of which includes: Alana Blanchard, Bruna Schmitz, Paige Maddison, Paul Fisher, Arthur Bourbon, Kai Otton, Vincent Duvignac, Nick Rozsa and Luke Davis, among others.

Mexico, Distrito Federal, February 2013 – Reef, the world’s leader in surf and lifestyle products, presents its latest team riders for Reef Mexico, with the mission of supporting the young people that are dedicated to surfing. It’s made up of some of the best riders in Mexico, including: Jimena Ochoa, Yuco Trujillo and Angelo Lozano, who have all participated in different categories of the Reef Classic Mazatlan contest (Men’s and Women’s Pro Open Shortboard, Men’s Longboard, and Junior Shortboard for competitors under the age of 20). Read on to get to know a little more about their achievements and what makes them the best riders.

Jimena Ochoa, 22, is a professional surfer, one of the top five Mexican surfers and is the first woman to grace the cover of a national surfing magazine. She was born in Manzanillo, but grew up in Sayulita and currently still lives there with her sister who is just a year older. She has two sisters and one brother and has participated in various contests like the 2012 National, the Evencio Garcia in 2010 and the Zicatela Pro, also in 2010.

Angelo Lozano is the Mexican with the most international representations, with nine assists to the ISA World Surfing Games, the ISA World Junior Surfing Championships and the ASP World Junior Championships in South Africa, Tahiti, the United States, Australia, Costa Rica, Peru and Panama. He was also champion of the Vans PXM International 2008, the WQS 3 Stars in Puerto Escondido, Mexico, the El Salvador Impresionante, and the ALAS Latin Pro, 2008. In the Open Category, he was champion of the 2011 International November Holidays Contest in Puerto Escondido, champion of six events of the ALAS Latin Tour in the Junior, Junior Pro and Open categories in Costa Rica, Chile, El Salvador and Mexico. He was also a two-time National Junior Champion.

Jose Manuel "Yuco" Trujillo Salas is the most experienced professional mexican surfer and has won the most contests. He´s originally from the state of Guerrero and has competed in contests since 2006.
